HEART OF A PINE
Shot by Kyle Meck
Once, a good friend told me, "The heart of a pine has more timber than mine."
These words rang true, and a wildly honest realization beat inside me. While we have each set forth upon our own way, we are all just walking each other home. I yearn to have a heart like that of a pine -- steadfast and strong, brave, branches wide open: open to change and transformation. Unafraid of the fog rolling in. Empowered by a simple rainstorm or gentle sunrise.
Over the past month, I've been gravitating towards my favorite types of forests: full of an air that is welcoming of winter, and clinging to the nostalgia of the fall. From the Pacific Coastline, to the Northern Shoreline, I've found myself most grounded in the heart of a pine forest.
In collaboration with my friends over at Cotopaxi, I'd love to share the rad story behind their new Kusa Collection. Every Kusa product is made with a unique llama fiber that is sourced from the Altiplano region of South America. This special fiber provides the perfect form of natural insulation: ideal for weekend adventures in rainy Seattle, or chilly northern Minnesota. If you’re feeling inspired by The Kusa Collection by Cotopaxi, you can also use discount code allegraroseb for 15% off full-price items.
Sending wonderful winter vibes your way, dreamers! Go outside, grab some incredible adventure buddies like Courtney Steeves & Kyle Meck, and go embrace the season.

and there we stood - -
starry - eyed,
drenched in the sunshine,
hearts full (overwhelmingly)
in the fog,
above the pines,
soaked to the skin,
our souls overflowed.
somewhere in washington,
under golden sunsets,
dancing to a rhythm,
played just for us.

WAY UP NORTH
>> by Ryan Karls
>> by Donavon Hursh
last weekend, some friends & I drove straight towards canada and didn't look back. we stayed up most of the night, dancing around in the light of the full moon and starry sky. we awoke at daybreak, to explore voyageurs national park: a magical place along the border of minnesota & canada, composed of over 900 tiny islands sitting upon the water, like puzzle pieces scattered on a sparkling mirror. surrounded by the golden north woods, we set sail at dawn, navigating the routes of the original voyageurs.

COLORADO MOONRISE
West Coast Wardrobe Eternal Sun Sleeveless Button Down Maxi (in Ivory/Orange)
We drove about 50 miles past vail, and ended up somewhere in the Rockies, up on mountain, in a field filled with summer blooms. We danced with wild horses, and watched the moon & stars come out, one by one. We had no connection to the rest of the world, grew sleepy & starry-eyed on the floor of our tiny cabin, and wondered about why life is lived any other way.

SILVER LININGS
We are all creatures of the Earth, rooted in the tree of life, empowered by the growth and wilting of the changing seasons. We are all seasons in ourselves: beings of change and passionate seeking. Yet, there is no we, and there is no they, there is only us, we and our fellow fauna: one breath, one force of vigorous being. We are not separate. We sense the elements that encompass the slight differences in our appearance, in our thinking, in our ways of wandering about the Earth, but there is so much more we have to offer each other. We are not limited to, but liberated by, the source of communication between our types of being: togetherness. In this way, though we may have different modes of carrying ourselves, together, we saunter down pathways, trot down trails, climb up mountains, dance across meadows. When we come to realize that we all walk this Earth together, may we realize the beauty in all the creatures we may come to know, and may we roam as we were made to be: utterly wild and free.

In collaboration with Silver Jeans Co, I'm thrilled to announce that we will be hosting a meet + greet event at the Minnesota State Fair, on Friday, August 26 from 5-7pm! I'll be joining with Courtney Steeves, Sami Huerta, & Hailey Kneprath to kick off SJC's #WeFit Campaign! Come check out the good vibes, and find your perfect fit. We'll also have a rad airstream camper, a GIF booth, and an embroidery station!
p.s. You can mention "Allegra Rose" and get a special surprise at the event! So that's pretty cool.
I've found my perfect fit to be the "Suki." I honestly never like wearing jeans growing up, because I found them uncomfortable, restrictive, and never fit me the way I wanted. I absolutely love the soft material used for the "Suki" fit, as well as the contoured waistband to accentuate curves between hip and waist. These distressed beauties have definitely become a fall-wardrobe staple.
Hope everyone's day was filled with love, light, and peace.
Keep your head up, dreamers.

SUMMER DAZE
“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger –
something better, pushing right back.”
-Albert Camus, The Stranger
STILL GROWING
Lotta by Stockholm Highwood Open Tan & Orange Clogs
Florals by Cedar's Flower Shop
i am still growing.
i stand a bit taller than i did yesterday.
through some (most) days, i was withering.
around a year ago from this very day, i found myself dubiously trying to grow roots in fields that would never see a drop of rain: the days my soul was ever-wandering, my heart much too proud. (a weary ignorance to the very nature of that cursed land)
i’d wake up, and try again, and try and try to summon the rain.
the thing was, i had learning to do.
nature does not make way for those who put faith into mirages.
and i had put myself all in.
i was knee deep in the weight that I had to bear each day, waiting for the storms to pass.
i realized that i’d have to give up many futile years spent in this soil, in order to start growing gardens inside myself again. blossoms were a faint memory that i had deemed as unreal fairytales (as i had forgotten how to be)
with unsteady courage, i began, one by one, to pull out the weeds,
and with each,
brought back my vines of green, my petals,
they whispered gently,
“you don’t belong here. come home.”
and i am now growing strong and tall,
sometimes i quiver in the wind,
but i raise my face towards the sun when she shines,
and i am no longer constrained to fences or gates,
i lay down in meadows where i’ve let my soul g(r)o(w) wild.
WEEKEND IN CALI
- DAY 1 -
* Avo toast for lunch @ Greenleaf Venice!
> THE SETUP :
L. Angels is an art gallery + boutique which sells art by local artists in California! They partnered with ELLA + RUBI for E+R's Venice Beach pop-up! The owner of L. Angles started her very own brand called Bands of L.A., bridging her passion for creating art, and owning a small business. On the front window of the store, reads the quote,
"The dreamers are the saviours of the world."
ELLA + RUBI is owned by two beautiful and inspirational women, Dani and Amy: fashion curators of uncommon goods. I had the pleasure of meeting Dani in Malibu at Be Free Fest: my Gypsy05 pop-up back in March! I created a custom print for ELLA + RUBI, with their mantra, which was displayed at the pop-up,
"Be uncommon."
Among Vogue editors, local bloggers + vibrant creative entrepreneurs, I spent the evening painting custom tote bags for the event. These totes were made out of recycled sails from sailboats, which was totally rad.
- DAY 2 -
Saturday morning, I woke up at the Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.
* Brunch o'clock !
L A > > > V B
Happened upon this adorable van, and went to take a closer look. Turns out the man who owns it, sells fresh flowers every day, out of the van.
"Simplicity is the law of nature, for man, as well as flowers."
Stopped for a late lunch @ The Butcher's Daughter. Quite convinced that whoever designed this restaurant is my soul sister. Probably my most favorite place that I went in California.
* Avo-eggs benedict for an early dinner. Most satisfying creation.
While I painted tote bags, this was the view to my right. The lines of California are glorious.
- DAY 3 -
Sunday morning we checked out of the Ace, grabbed coffee, stopped by the hotel's vintage photo booth, and picked up macarons from Bottega Louie on our way back to Venice Beach.
The final day of the ELLA + RUBI pop-up was filled with painting customized Bands of L.A. fanny packs, and ELLA + RUBI leather clutches.
While I was in Venice Beach, I had the wonderful opportunity to connect with Jenna Handweiler, from HelloSociety, one of the agenices I work for! We met up to recaffeinate & hear each other's stories at Flowerboy Project, an gorgeous cafe located just a few miles from Abbott Kinney.
Celebratory ice cream was definitely happening. The ice cream barista let one of my best friends Rachel and I sample every unique flavor at Salt & Straw, despite the line behind us which was out the door. On silver spoons, we sampled Honey Lavender and Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons. We finally decided upon handmade waffle cones filled with quickly melting ice cream.
- DAY 4 -
My last day in California was spent exploring Newport Beach and Balboa Island.
* this is a frozen banana, dipped in chocolate, and covered in rainbow sprinkles
forever cali dreamin.

MOUNTAIN AIR
Urban Violet En Creme Long Sleeve Split Neck Tunic | PacSun LA Hearts Tan Bandana
There is some inexplainable pull within us, constantly beckoning us towards the energy of the roots of the Earth. As we reside in our all-too over-stimulated surroundings, we are displaced from our natural vigor. May we run, as far and as fast as we can, not away, but towards. Towards the parts of ourselves that may only be found in the humble grandeur of nature, where we may rediscover our inner beings. May we dance with the spritely wind, and bathe ourselves in the foliage, in the blossoms, in the crunching leaves and the courageous pines. Let our souls be cleansed by the healing power of the Earth.

LAND OF THE FREE
A few weeks ago, I escaped to the mountains for a few days to ground myself.
"And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul."
I did yoga on top of a mountain, almost dropped my camera off the chairlift on the way down. I bought butterscotch lollipops, and painted in my favorite overalls in the fresh, open-air of the mountains.
One afternoon was spent getting lost along highways lined with mountains and pines, listening to John Denver, and running through lavender fields with some rad folks. This mountain life is the for me.
